The Kennedy School provides individual and group social work services. As a school social worker, it is important to develop a safe and secure environment for the students. This is accomplished by maintaining confidentiality and helping the students feel comfortable discussing a variety of topics. Additionally, the students work on their social skills so they can develop and maintain strong, meaningful relationships. This is achieved through guidance, modeling, and prompting. The social worker also participates in the Individualized Educational Program (IEP) and eligibility process to help determine which services are most appropriate and effective for the students.
