St. Coletta’s of Illinois offers employment programs that teach job skills to adults and students with disabilities who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. The Janitorial and Culinary Arts Programs are offered at the Tinley Park Administrative Complex. Both programs are curriculum based and are designed to provide program participants with the opportunity to acquire the entry-level skills needed to be successful in the specific field of interest. Participants will acquire basic and technical skills in a classroom setting and then be provided with the opportunity to practice the skills in a simulated employment situation.
St. Coletta’s of Illinois’ Community Employment Programs assist persons with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining jobs within their local community. The Agency’s professional staff assists individuals to realize their employment goals by helping each individual develop an individualized employment plan that is consistent with their skill levels, employment preferences and level of independence.
St. Coletta’s of Illinois offers short-term employment assistance in the form of the Competitive Placement Program. Individuals requiring more time and support to acclimate to an employment situation are more appropriate for the Agency’s Supported Employment Program. The individual will be placed in one of the programs based on the funding source’s recommendations (see Referral Process).
