SCHOOL FOR EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN

The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy School at St. Coletta’s of Illinois is a therapeutic day school located in Tinley Park, Illinois. The school serves students with a variety of disabilities including, but not limited to, intellectually and developmentally delayed students ages 3-22. We are Illinois State Board of Education certified and work with school districts from the south, southwest and western suburbs, including: Thornton Township District 205, Thornton Fractional District 215, Plainfield CCSD 202, Crete Monee District 201-U, Consolidated High School District 230 and Flossmoor District 161. Tuition is paid for by the referring school districts as determined by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Our curriculum is provided 12 months a year, with a one-week break between the semesters and extended school year. We offer a continuum of services including all related services and an academic curriculum that meets all state standards. The focus is on ensuring that students are successful and thrive after completing school, which means a focus on all areas of development. We currently offer counseling; Occupational, Physical and Speech therapy services; as well as Vocational Training.  These services are determined based on each student’s individual needs and are scheduled as detailed in the student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
